waters; 16. And he had seven stars in his right hand, and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and his face shone as the bright sun.
  • And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, and said unto me, Fear not. I am the first and the last
  • And the living. I was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, and have the keys of hell and of death.
  • Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall come to pass hereafter,
  • The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven candlesticks of gold. The seven stars are angels of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are seven churches.
    (Revelation)
    Chapter 2
Four epistles warning against false teaching and exhorting to constancy.
  • And unto the angel of the church which is in Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven candlesticks of gold: 2. I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and that thou canst not bear the wicked, and hast tried them that say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars, 3. And bear, and have patience; and for my name’s sake labour, and be not weary.
  • But I am against thee, because thou hast trusted in the first love.
  • Remember that from which thou hast fallen, and repent, and do the first works. But if not, I will come unto thee quickly, and will cast away thy candlestick out of his place, where thou hast not repented.
  • But this thou hast, that thou hatest the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
  • He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the wood of life which is in the paradise of God.
  • And unto the angel of the church which is in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive:
  • I know thy works, and thy afflictions, and thy poverty, (but thou art rich,) and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and are not, but are the school of Satan.
  • Be not afraid of any that thou shalt suffer. Behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried: and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.
  • He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh there shall be no hurt from another death.
  • And unto the angel of the church which is in Pergamos write; Say ye this, that he hath a sharp two-edged sword:
  • I know what thou doest, and where thou dwellest, where Satan’s throne is, and holdest fast
my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in the days wherein Antipas my faithful witness is slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
  • But I have a small matter against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, which taught Balak to make a nuisance in the sight of the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
  • So you also have those who hold to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. I hate that.
  • Repent: but if not, I will come unto thee quickly, and will have war with them by the sword of my mouth.
  • He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a good testimony; and with the testimony a new name written, which no man knoweth, save he that receiveth it.
  • And unto the angel of the church that is in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, which hath eyes like unto the flame of fire, and his feet like unto brass: 19. I know thy works, and thy love, and thy service, and thy faith, and thy patience, and that the longer thou doest the more.
  • But I have a small matter against thee, that thou sufferest the woman Jezebel, which saith she is a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants, and to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
  • And I gave her time to repent of her fornication; and she repenteth not.
  • Behold, I cast her into a bed, and them that have committed adultery with her into great tribulation, where they repent not of their works.
  • And their children will I smite to death. And all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the kidneys and hearts, and will give to every one of you according to your works.
  • But unto you I say, and to the rest that are at Thyatira, which have not such doctrine, and have not known the depths of Satan, I will not cast upon you another burden.
  • But that which ye have, keep until I come.
  • And whosoever overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the heathen.
  • And he shall feed them with a rod of iron, and like a potter’s vessel shall he break them, 28. As I have received of my Father, and will give him the morning star.
  • He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches!
    (Revelation
    Chapter 3
Three epistles that contain a warning against hypocrisy, indifference and carelessness concerning Christianity.
  • And unto the angel of the church which is in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works: for thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
  • Be valiant, and strengthen the other that will die: for I have not found thy works perfect in the sight of God.
  • Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and keep it, and repent. If thou wilt not watch, I will come upon thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
  • Thou hast also few names in Sardis, which have not defiled their garments: and they shall walk with me in white raiment; for they are worthy.
  • He that overcometh shall be clothed in white raiment, and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
  • he who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches!
  • And unto the angel of the church which is in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth, he that shutteth, and no man openeth:
  • I know thy works. Behold, I have given before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast small strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
  • Behold, I will give out of the school of Satan them that say they are Jews, and are not, but lie.
Behold, I will make them to come and worship at thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
  • Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
  • Behold, I come quickly! Hold fast that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
  • Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out. And I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the new Jerusalem, the city of my God, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and my name the new.
  • He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
  • And unto the angel of the church at Laodicea write; These things saith Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creature of God:
  • I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot. Oh that thou wert cold or hot!
  • But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
  • Thou sayest, I am rich, and full, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.
  • I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined with fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness be not revealed: and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
  • Whom I love I punish and chasten. Be diligent therefore, and do penance.
  • Behold, I stand at the door, and knock. If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will make supper with him, and he with me.
  • To him that overcometh will I give to sit with me in my throne: as I overcame, and sat with my Father in his throne.
  • He who has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches!
    (Revelation)
    Chapter 4
The second vision: from the throne of the Father’s majesty and glory.
  • After these things I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven; and the first voice which I heard speak unto me as a trumpet, saying, Come up hither; I will shew thee things which
