Luther Bible 1545 (English)
manners and knowledge; for I believe thy commandments.
Before I was humbled, I was in error; but now I keep thy word.
thou art kind and gracious: teach me thy statutes.
The proud invent lies against me: but I keep thy commandments with all my heart.
70: their heart is as thick as the sea; but I delight in thy law.
I am glad that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy statutes.
72: The law of thy mouth is dearer unto me than many thousand pieces of gold and silver.
thy hand hath made me and prepared me: instruct me, that I may learn thy commandments.
They that fear thee see me, and rejoice: for I hope in thy word.
O LORD, I know that thy judgments are right, and that thou hast humbled me faithfully.
let thy mercy be my consolation, as thou hast promised thy servant.
77: let thy mercy be upon me, that I may live: for I delight in thy law.
Oh that the proud might be put to shame, who oppress me with lies! But I speak of thy command.
Oh that those who fear thee and know thy testimonies would cleave to me!
Let my heart be established in thy statutes, that I be not put to shame.
My soul desireth thy salvation; I hope in thy word.
My eyes long for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
for I am as a skin in the smoke; thy right hand do I not forget.
How long shall thy servant wait? When wilt thou execute judgment upon my persecutors?
the proud dig me pits that are not according to thy law.
Thy commandments are all truth. They persecute me with lies; help me!
They have almost killed me on the earth; but I will not forsake thy commands.
Restore me by thy grace, that I may keep the testimonies of thy mouth.
O LORD, thy word endureth for ever, as far as the heavens are; 90. Thy truth endureth for ever and ever. Thou hast prepared the earth, and it standeth still.
Remain daily according to thy word: for all things must serve thee.
If thy law had not been my consolation, I should have perished in my misery.
I will never forget thy commandments: for thou hast refreshed me with them.
I am thine, help me; for I seek thy orders.
the wicked wait for me, that they may destroy me: but I take heed to thy testimonies.
I have seen the end of all things: but thy commandment endureth.
How I love thy law! Daily I speak of it.
thou makest me wiser with thy commandment than mine enemies are: for it is mine treasure for ever.
I am more learned than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my speech.
I am wiser than the ancients; for I keep thy commandments.
I will keep my foot from all evil ways, that I may keep thy word.
I will not depart from thy statutes: for thou teachest me.
Thy word is sweeter to my mouth than honey.
thy word maketh me wise: therefore hate I all false ways,
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
I swear, and will keep it, that I will keep the statutes of thy righteousness.
I am greatly humbled; O Lord, refresh me according to thy word.
Indulge thou, O LORD, the willing sacrifice of my mouth, and teach me thy statutes.
I carry my soul always in my hands, and I forget not thy law.
The wicked lay ropes for me: but I will not go astray from thy commandment.
Thy testimonies are my everlasting inheritance; for they are the delight of my heart.
I incline mine heart to do thy statutes for ever and ever.
I hate the fluttering spirits and love your law.
thou art my shield and buckler; I hope in thy word.
Depart from me, ye wicked ones; I will keep the commandments of my God.
Keep me by thy word, that I may live; and let not my hope fail me.
strengthen me that I may recover, and I will always delight in thy statutes.
Thou treadest down all them that lack thy right: for their deceit is vain falsehood.
Thou castest away all the wicked of the earth as dross: therefore do I love thy testimonies.
I am afraid of thee, and my skin shivers: I am afraid of thy right hand.
I am above justice and righteousness; do not hand me over to those who would do me violence!
Stand thou for thy servant, and comfort him, that the proud do me no violence.
My eyes long for your salvation and for the word of your righteousness.
deal with thy servant according to thy lovingkindness, and teach me thy statutes.
125.. I am thy servant: instruct me, that I may know thy testimonies.
It is time for the LORD to do it: they have broken thy law.
Therefore I love thy commandment above gold, and above fine gold.
Therefore I keep all thy commandments straightway; I hate all false ways.
Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
When thy word is made manifest, it rejoiceth, and maketh wise the simple.
I will open my mouth, and desire thy commandments: for I desire them.
turn unto me, and be gracious unto me, as thou wilt do unto them that love thy name.
Let my walk be sure in thy word, and let no injustice rule over me.
Deliver me from the iniquities of men, and I will keep thy commandments.
Let thy face shine upon thy servant, and teach me thy statutes.
mine eyes run with water, that they keep not thy law.
O LORD, thou art just, and thy word is right.
Thou hast harshly commanded the testimonies of thy righteousness and the truth.
I have been almost jealous to death, so that my adversaries forget your words.
thy word is well purified, and thy servant loveth it.
I am lowly and despised, but I do not forget your command.
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is truth.
anguish and distress have afflicted me; but I delight in thy commandments.
The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting; instruct me, and I shall live.
I cry with all my heart; hear me, O LORD, that I may keep thy statutes.
I cry unto thee: help me that I may keep thy testimonies.
I come early and cry out; in thy word I hope.
I awake early to speak of thy word.
Hear my voice according to thy mercy; O LORD, refresh me according to thy statutes.
My wicked persecutors seek me, and are far from thy law.
Thou art near, O Lord, and thy commandments are all truth.
But before this I know that thou hast established thy testimonies for ever.
Behold my affliction, and deliver me: help me out, for I forget not thy law.
Lead my cause, and deliver me; refresh me with thy word.
Salvation is far from the wicked: for they respect not thy statutes.
O LORD, thy mercy is great: refresh me according to thy righteousness.
My persecutors and adversaries are many: but I depart not from thy testimonies.
I see the despisers, and woe is me that they keep not thy word.
Behold, I love thy commandments; O LORD, refresh me according to thy grace!
thy word is nothing but truth: all the statutes of thy righteousness endure for ever.
The princes persecute me without a cause, and my heart is afraid of thy words.
I rejoice in thy word as one that getteth a great spoil.
I am a lover of lies, and abhor them: but I love thy law.
I praise thee seven times a day for thy righteousness’ sake.
great peace have they that love thy law, and shall not stumble.
O LORD, I wait for thy salvation, and do according to thy commandments.
My soul holdeth thy testimonies, and loveth them almost.
I will keep thy commandments and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before thee.
O Lord, let my complaint come before thee; instruct me according to thy word.
let my supplication come before thee; save me according to thy word.
my lips shall rave, when thou teachest me thy statutes.
My tongue shall have her conversation of thy word: for all thy commandments are right.
Let thy hand be with me: for I have fulfilled thy commandments.
O LORD, I desire thy salvation, and have delight in thy law.
Let my soul live, that it may praise thee; and let thy judgments help me.
I am like a sheep that is gone astray and lost: seek thy servant; for I forget not thy commandments.
