Luther Bible 1545 (English)
wicked with meekness.
And punish the unruly, whether God will one day give them repentance to know the truth, 26. And be sober again from the snare of the devil, by whom they are bound to his will.
(2 Timothy)
Chapter 3
Of the dreadful last times. Of the glorious use of the Holy Scriptures.
But this thou shalt know, that in the last days there shall be terrible times.
For there shall be men that think evil of themselves, covetous, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unspiritual,
disruptive, unforgiving, abuser, unchaste, wild, unkind,
traitors, sacrilegious, puffed up, who love lust more than God, 5. Who have the appearance of godliness, but deny his power. And such avoid!
Of the same are they that creep to and fro into the houses, and lead captive the women that are laden with sins, and that go about with divers lusts,
are always learning, and can never come to the knowledge of the truth.
But as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so these also withstood the truth: they are men of corrupt minds, unfit to believe.
But they shall not be long: for their folly shall be made manifest unto all men, even as he was.
But thou hast known my doctrine, my manner, my opinion, my faith, my longsuffering, my love, my patience,
My persecution, my sufferings, which happened unto me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra, what persecutions I endured: and out of all these the LORD delivered me.
And all they that will live godly in Christ JEsu must suffer persecution.
But with wicked men and seducers, the longer the worse, the more they seduce, and are seduced.
But continue thou in that which thou hast learned, and hast trusted in, knowing of whom thou hast learned.
And because thou hast known the scriptures from thy infancy, the same can instruct thee unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
For all scripture, inspired of God, is profitable for doctrine, for judgment, for correction, for chastening in righteousness,
That a man of God may be perfect, fitted for all good works.
(2 Timothy)
Chapter 4
Good oversight needed in the preaching ministry. Paul’s struggle and crown.
Now therefore I testify before God, and before the Lord JESUS CHRIST, who is to come to judge the quick and the dead, with his appearing and with his kingdom: 2. Preach the word; stop, whether in season or out of season; chasten, rebuke, exhort with all patience and doctrine.
For there shall be a time when they shall not suffer sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts shall they load themselves with teachers, after which their ears shall itch; 4. And shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall turn to fables.
But be thou sober in all things. Suffer thyself, do the work of an evangelical preacher, judge thy ministry honestly.
For I am already offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.
Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the LORD the righteous judge shall give me in that day: and not unto me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Diligent thyself, that thou mayest come unto me quickly.
For Demas hath left me, and loved this world, and gone to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia; Titus to Dalmatia.
Luke is alone with me Mark take unto thee, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable unto me for the service.
Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
The mantle which I left at Troas with Carpo, bring with thee when thou comest, and the books, and especially the parchment.
Alexander, the blacksmith hath shewed me much evil: let the LORD pay him according to his works.
From whom also beware: for he hath greatly withstood our words.
In my first responsibility no man stood with me, but they all forsook me. Let it not be imputed to them!
And the LORD stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the preaching might be confirmed, and that all the Gentiles might hear. And I am delivered out of the lion’s mouth.
But the LORD will deliver me from all evil, and will help me to his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
greetings Priska and Aquila and the house Onesiphorus.
Erastus remained at Corinth; but Trophimus I left sick at Miletus.
Do diligently, that thou come before winter. Greetings to you from Eubulus and Pudens and Linus and Klaudia and all the brothers.
May the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit! Grace be with you! Amen.
Written from Rome, the other epistle to Timothy, when Paul was presented for the second time before the emperor Nero.

The letter of Paul to Titus ^
Chapter 1
With what persons the office of preaching is to be appointed, and what the office of the preacher is.
Paul, a servant of GOD, but an apostle of JEsu Christ according to the faith of the elect of GOD and the knowledge of the truth unto godliness,
In hope of eternal life, which he that lieth not, GOD, promised before the times of the world, 3. But hath in his time revealed his word by the preaching which is committed unto me, according to the commandment of God our Saviour:
Titus, my righteous son, according to the faith of both of us: Grace, mercy, peace, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldest make a full end of it, as I left it, and fill the cities to and fro with the elders, as I commanded thee;
If any man be blameless, the husband of a wife, having faithful children, not reproached for their revelry and disobedience.
For a bishop shall be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not angry, not a winebibber, not thumping, not dealing dishonestly,
but hospitable, kind, chaste, just, holy, chaste.
Holding fast the word that is sure and able to teach, that he may be mighty to exhort by sound doctrine, and to punish them that speak evil.
For there are many impudent and vain babblers and seducers, especially of the circumcision, 11. Whom it is necessary to shut up, who pervert whole houses, and teach that which is not good, for shameful gain.
One of them hath said, their own prophet, The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and foul bellies.
This testimony is true. For this cause punish them severely, that they may be sound in the faith.
and pay no attention to the Jewish fables and commandments of men, which turn away from the truth.
All things are clean unto the pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing clean, but both their mind and conscience are defiled.
They say that they know God, but by their works they deny it, because they are those in whom God is abominable, and do not obey, and are unfit for any good work.
(Titus)
Chapter 2
Rules of life of different estates to observe for the sake of God’s grace appeared.
But speak thou according to the sound doctrine:
To the aged, that they may be sober, honourable, chaste, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3. To the old women of the same kind, that they should behave themselves according to the manner of the saints, not blasphemers, not winebibbers, but good teachers, 4. That they may teach the young women to be chaste, to love their husbands, to love children, 5. To be chaste, domestic, kind, subject to their husbands, lest the word of God be blasphemed.
In like manner exhort the young men to be chaste.
But in every place set thyself for an ensample of good works, with doctrine unadulterated, with uprightness,
With a wholesome and blameless word, that the wicked may be ashamed, and have nothing to say evil of us.
To the servants, that they may be subject unto their masters, to do them good in all things, not to bark against them,
not to betray, but to show all good faith, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
(Epistle on Christmas Day.)
For the saving grace of God hath appeared unto all men.
And discipline us, that we may deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and live chastely, righteously, and godly, in this world.
and wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and of our Saviour JEsu Christ,
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all unrighteousness, and purify unto himself a people for a possession, diligent to do good works.
Speak these things, and exhort, and rebuke with all earnestness. Let no man despise thee.
(Titus)
Chapter 3
To honor authorities, to praise God’s goodness, to avoid useless questions and heretics.
remind them to be subject and obedient to princes and authorities, ready for all good works, 2. not to blaspheme, not to quarrel, to be gentle, to show all meekness toward all men.
For we also in old time were unwise, disobedient, erring, serving the lusts and divers desires, walking in malice and envy, hating one another.
(Epistle on the second day of Christ.)
But the kindness and goodness of God our Saviour appeared,
Not because of the works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his mercy he made us blessed by the bath of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, 6. Which he hath abundantly poured out upon us through JESUS Christ our Saviour: 7. That by His grace we might be justified and inherit eternal life according to the hope.].
This is certainly true. These things I would have thee teach firmly, that they which have believed in God may be found in a state of
