O Lord, how many are mine enemies, and how many are set against me!

I call upon the LORD with my voice, and he heareth me from his holy mountain. Sela.

I lie, and sleep, and awake: for the LORD keepeth me.

I am not afraid of many hundreds of thousands, which are laid up against me round about.

Be ye angry, sin not. Speak with your heart in your camp, and wait. Sela.

Sacrifice righteousness, and hope in the LORD.

Many say, How shall this man shew us what is good? But, O Lord, lift up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Thou hast made my heart glad, though they have much wine and corn.

I lie down and sleep in peace: for thou alone, O LORD, helpest me to dwell safely.

Hear my words, O LORD; mark my speech.

Hear my cry, O king, and my God: for I will pray before thee.

O Lord, early wilt thou hear my voice; early will I send unto thee, and take heed.

For thou art not a god to whom wickedness pleaseth: he that is wicked abideth not before thee.

The glorifiers stand not before thine eyes: thou art hostile to all evildoers.

Thou destroyest liars: the LORD hath abhorred of the bloodthirsty and false.

And I will enter into thy house upon thy great goodness, and will worship against thy holy temple in thy fear.

O LORD, guide me in thy righteousness for mine enemies’ sake; direct thy way before me.

For in their mouth there is no certainty; their inwardness is heartache; their mouth is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they make a pretence.

Blame them, O God, that they should fall from their nobleness. Cast them out for their great transgression; for they are rebellious against Thee.

Let all them that trust in thee rejoice: let them glory for ever: for thou shieldest them: let them that love thy name be glad in thee.

For thou, O LORD, blessest the righteous: thou crownest them with grace as with a shield.

O LORD, punish me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy wrath.

Lord, have mercy upon me, for I am faint: heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled, 4. And my soul is greatly troubled. O Lord, how long!

Turn thee, O LORD, and save my soul: help me for thy goodness’ sake.

For in death thou art not remembered: who shall thank thee in hell?

I am so weary with sighing, I wash my bed all night long, and with my tears I wet my bed.

My frame is fallen with grief, and is waxed old: for I am troubled in all places.

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity: for the LORD hath heard my crying, 10. The LORD heareth my supplications; the LORD receiveth my prayer.

All mine enemies shall be put to shame, and be sore afraid, and turn back, and be put to shame suddenly.

In thee, O LORD, do I trust, O my God. Help me from all my persecutors and save me, 3. That they take not my soul like lions, and rend it, because there is no saviour.

O LORD my God, I have done these things, and there is iniquity in my hands; 5. I have done evil to them that lived peaceably with me, or have harmed them that were enemies unto me without a cause,

Then my enemy pursues my soul, and seizes it, and tramples my life to the ground, and lays

arise, O LORD, in thy wrath, rise up above the fury of mine enemies, and restore me to the office which thou hast commanded me,

That the people may be gathered unto thee again: and for their sakes come up again.

The LORD is judge of men. Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and godliness.

Put an end to the wickedness of the wicked, and promote the righteous: for thou, righteous God, testest hearts and kidneys.

My shield is with God, which helpeth the upright in heart.

God is a righteous judge, and a God that travaileth daily.

If any man will not be converted, he hath sharpened his sword, he hath bent his bow, he hath aimed it,

And hath laid upon it deadly shot: he hath made his arrows to perish.

Behold, he hath evil in his heart, he is with child in mischief; but he shall bring forth a defect.

He digged a pit, and carried it out, and fell into the pit which he made.

His calamity shall come upon his head, and his iniquity shall fall upon his crown.

I give thanks unto the LORD for his righteousness’ sake, and will praise the name of the LORD Most High.

O Lord our sovereign, how glorious is thy name in all the earth, when they give thee thanks in heaven!

Thou hast put power into the mouth of the young children and sucklings for thine enemies’
sake, to destroy the enemy and the revenger.

For I will see the heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars which thou preparest.

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the child of man, that thou art mindful of him?

you will let him be forsaken by God for a little while. But with honors and adornment you will crown him.

Thou wilt make him lord over the work of thy hands: thou hast put all things under his feet: 8. Sheep and bullocks at all, and wild beasts also,

The fowls of the air, and the fishes of the sea, and the things that go in the sea.

I thank the LORD with all my heart, and tell all thy wonders.

I am glad and rejoice in thee, and praise thy name, O most high, 4. That thou hast driven mine enemies after thee: they are fallen and perished before thee.

For thou hast executed my judgment and my cause: thou sittest upon the throne a righteous judge.

Thou reproachest the heathen, and destroyest the wicked: thou destroyest their name for ever and ever.

The swords of the enemy are ended; thou hast turned back the cities; their memory is perished with them.

But the LORD abideth for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

And he shall judge the earth righteously, and shall govern the people righteously.

And the LORD is the poor man’s refuge, a refuge in trouble.

Therefore they that know thy name put their hope in thee: for they that seek thee, O LORD, trust not in thee.

Praise the LORD that dwelleth in Zion; declare his doings among the people.

For he remembereth and enquireeth after their blood: he forgetteth not the cry of the poor.

O Lord, have mercy upon me: behold my affliction among mine enemies, thou that liftest me
up out of the gates of death,

That I may tell all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion, that I may rejoice in thy salvation.

The heathen are sunk in the pit which they have made: their foot is caught in the net which they have made.

Thus it is known that the LORD worketh righteousness. The wicked is entangled in the work of his hands by the word. Sela.

Oh that the wicked should be turned into hell, all the heathen that forget God!

For he will not altogether forget the poor, neither will the hope of the needy be lost for ever.

Arise, O Lord, lest men prevail: let all the heathen be judged before thee.
