A psalm of David. Bring unto the LORD, ye mighty ones, bring unto the LORD glory and strength.

Bring glory to the LORD for his name; worship the LORD in holy habiliments.

The voice of the LORD goeth upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth, the LORD upon great waters.

The voice of the LORD goeth with power: the voice of the LORD goeth gloriously.

The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars: the LORD breaketh the cedars in Lebanon.

And make them lick like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

The voice of the LORD is as flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD stirreth up the wilderness: the voice of the LORD stirreth up the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the LORD stirreth up the hinds, and uncovereth the forests. And in his temple shall all men give him glory.

The LORD sitteth to bring a flood. And the LORD remaineth a king for ever.

The LORD shall give strength unto his people: the LORD shall bless his people with peace.

Thanksgiving for God’s goodness in cross and tribulation.

A psalm to sing of the dedication of the house of David.

I praise thee, O LORD; for thou hast exalted me, and hast not caused mine enemies to rejoice over me.

O LORD my God, when I cried unto thee, thou restoredst me.

O LORD, thou hast brought my soul out of hell: thou hast kept me alive while they went into hell.

All ye saints, sing praises unto the LORD; give thanks, and praise his holiness.

For his anger endureth for a moment, and he delighteth to live: weeping endureth for the evening, but joy in the morning.

And I said, when I was well: I shall never more lie down.

For, O LORD, by thy good pleasure thou hast made my mountain strong. But when thou hidest thy face, I was afraid.

I will cry unto thee, O LORD: unto the LORD will I pray.

What profit is there in my blood, if I be dead? Will the dust also thank thee, and proclaim thy faithfulness?

Hear, O Lord, and be gracious unto me: O Lord, be my helper.

Thou hast turned my lamentation into a dance: thou hast taken off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness,

That my glory may sing unto thee, and not be still. O LORD my God, I will give thee thanks for ever.

Hope makes no one lose heart in adversity.

a psalm of David, to be sung.

In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust. Let me never be put to shame; save me through your righteousness.

Incline thine ears unto me; hasten thou to help me. Be thou a strong rock and a fortress unto me, that thou mayest help me.

For thou art my rock and my fortress, and for thy name’s sake thou wilt guide and lead me.

Thou wilt pull me out of the net which they have set for me: for thou art my strength.

Into thy hands I commend my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD, thou faithful God.

I hate them that hold fast loose doctrine: but I hope in the LORD.

I am glad and rejoice in thy lovingkindness, because thou lookest upon my affliction, and knowest my soul in trouble.

and deliverest me not into the hands of the enemy: thou settest my feet upon a broad place.

O Lord, have mercy upon me: for I am afraid: my frame is gone down with grief, and my soul, and my belly.

For my life is consumed with sorrow, and my days with sighing; my strength is consumed with mine iniquity, and my bones are fainted.

I am so wicked, that I am a great reproach to my neighbours, and an abhorrence to my kinsmen: they that see me in the street flee from me.

Mine is forgotten in the heart as of a dead man; I am become as a broken vessel.

For many reproach me, that all men are afraid of me: they counsel together against me, and think to take away my life.

But I, O LORD, hope in thee, and say, Thou art my God.

My time is in thy hands. Deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Let thy face shine upon thy servant: help me by thy lovingkindness.

O LORD, let me not be put to shame: for I call upon thee. The wicked shall be ashamed, and shall be ashamed in hell.

Let false mouths be put to silence, which speak against the righteous, stiffly, proudly, and scornfully.

How great is thy lovingkindness, which thou hast hid from them that fear thee, and hast shewed to them that trust in thee before men.

Thou hidest them secretly in thine own house from every man’s defiance: thou hidest them in the tabernacle from the brawling tongues.

Praise be unto the LORD, that he hath shewed me a marvellous kindness in a strong city.

For I said in my anguish, I am cast out of thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications, when I cried unto thee.

Love the LORD, all ye his saints. The LORD keepeth the faithful, and rewardeth him that is proud.

Be of good cheer and of good courage, all ye that wait upon the LORD.

Of Justification.

An instruction of David. Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, in whose spirit there is no deceit.

For when I would have concealed it, my bones waxed feeble with my daily weeping.

For thy hand was heavy upon me day and night, that my sap was dried up, as it is withered in summer. Sela.

Therefore I confess my sin unto thee, and hide not my iniquity. I said: I will confess my transgression unto the LORD. Then forgavest thou me the iniquity of my sin. Sela.

For this shall all the saints pray thee in due time: therefore when great floods of waters come, they shall not reach the same.

Thou art my shield: thou wilt keep me from fear, that I may be saved, and may boast most gladly. Sela.

I will instruct thee, and show thee the way which thou shalt walk in: I will guide thee with mine eyes.

Be not as horses, and as mouths that have no understanding, which must be bridled and bitted in their mouths, if they will not come unto thee.

The wicked hath much trouble: but he that hopeth in the LORD, goodness shall compass him about.

Rejoice in the LORD, and be glad, ye righteous: and boast, all ye godly.

Our heart’s delight is in praising the benefits of God.

Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous. Let the righteous praise him beautifully.

Give thanks unto the LORD with harps, and sing praises unto him upon the psaltery of ten strings.

Sing unto him a new song; make it good on strings with sound.

For the word of the LORD is true, and what he saith he keepeth.

He loveth righteousness and judgment. The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all his host by the spirit of his mouth.

he holds the waters of the sea together as in a hose, and puts the depths in hiding.

Let all the earth fear the LORD, and let all that dwell upon the face of the earth be afraid of
him.

For he speaketh, and it is done; and he giveth, and it is written.

The LORD destroyeth the counsel of the heathen, and turneth back the thoughts of the nations.

But the counsel of the LORD endureth for ever, the thoughts of his heart for ever.

Blessed are the people, whom the LORD is a God, the people whom he hath chosen for an inheritance.

The LORD looketh down from heaven, and seeth the children of all men.

From his high throne he looketh upon all them that dwell on the earth.

He directeth the heart of them all; he marketh all their works.

A king is not saved by his great power; a giant is not saved by his great strength; 17. Neither do horses help, neither doth their great strength deliver.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, that hope in his mercy, 19. That he might save their souls from death, and feed them in affliction.

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.

For our heart rejoiceth in him, and we trust in his holy name.

Thy lovingkindness, O LORD, be upon us, as we hope in thee.

Thanksgiving for God’s kindness.

A psalm of David, when he hid his countenance from Abimelech, who drove him from himself, and he departed.

I will praise the LORD alway: his praise shall be in my mouth for ever.

Let my soul glory in the LORD, that the wretched may hear and rejoice.

Praise the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

When I sought the LORD, he answered me, and delivered me out of all my fear.

Whosoever looketh on him, and runneth upon him, his face shall not be ashamed.

When this wretch cried out, the LORD hearkened, and saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Taste and see how good the LORD is. Blessed is he that trusteth in him!

Fear the LORD, ye his saints: for they that fear him have no lack.

The rich have need and hunger: but they that seek the LORD have no lack of any thing.

Come hither, children, and hear me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Who is he that desireth good living, and would fain have good days?
